The air filter on the Cub was A) ancient and 2) gross so I replaced it with an ebay one. Doesn’t seem to run better but it sounds a bit more aggressive. Well, as aggressive as a 72cc thumper can. Also I put in a modern rectifier to see if it solves the slow charging. Total parts cost between the two: $15. Hooray for cheap things.
Also I ran the part # on the old filter and it seems to be a crank case breather for a truck and not an actual intake filter.
